Denise Lawless – Felting and Fiber Arts
Denise is originally from Ohio, but has been living in our mountains for over 50 years. She learned to weave baskets and wall sculptures in 1980. Her passion for working with wool began when she inherited her great grandmother’s spinning wheel. She found her love of working with wool and other natural fibers.
Since then, she has taught hat making classes and needle felted gnome classes at Florence Thomas Art School and Chestnut Creek School of the Arts.
Denise has a deep respect for nature through her art, using wool, silk, and kantha fabric in her hats, clothing, scarves, and whimsical art creations.
She enjoys creating items that give her joy while making them, and she always hopes that joy will be carried home with people who see and choose to purchase her items.
