Jamie Yeisley – Colored Pencil
Jamie is a native of Florida, born on the beautiful Emerald Coast in Destin, where she first developed a love of nature. From her earliest childhood she had a love of art and nature – her family used to joke that “if something still long enough, Jamie is going to draw on it!”
After growing up in Christmas, FL, she met and married her husband and followed him for the next 30 years as he served in the US Air Force. It was while he was deployed to the Middle East that she first tried her hand at using colored pencils, and fell in love with the medium. Since then she has focused primarily on improving her skills by painting pet portraits and landscapes. Recently, she turned her attention more to depicting light and shadow in her work, and on non-traditional subjects like the Mason Jars you see here.
Jamie and her husband moved to Sparta in 2021, after spending almost 18 months renovating the “Forever home”. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, driving along the Parkway and working in her ever-growing backyard garden.
