Kathie Kemp – Oils and Watercolors
Kathie is inspired by two things: nature and color. She loves working with color in any medium. As for nature, she simply loves animals, birds, and the natural world. She travels everywhere with a camera and always see things she wants to recapture in a painting. Her first love is watercolor, with oil as a very close second.
She is a native Californian, graduated from the University of California, San Diego, and began her career in graphic design and branding. She’s lived and worked in CA, NY and NC. Between design and fine art, She’s had a very full career. As an art director, she has directed design and production of magazine, books, promotional and collateral materials, products, and worked with artists, photographers, and crafts people all around the world. She’s received numerous design and painting awards including recognition in Communication Arts and Print magazines.
She is married and lives in Roaring Gap, NC, with her husband, Christopher, their exuberant Australian Shepherd, Gabriel, and their senior kitty, Lotus.
